As a dual headed role, the Innovation Manager covers two key areas within BBC Television. Working with production teams across Comedy, Entertainment and Events, the Innovation Manager role allows me to research, source and deliver latest technology to our programme makers to help BBC remain innovative in an ever changing technological landscape. With a wide ranging remit, I look to deliver cost savings and reduce our production footprint using technology to help make our production teams lives easier. Managing internal post-production area, covering Comedy, Entertainment and Events to deliver an exciting and broad range of programmes including; W1A, Big School, Gangsta Granny, David Bowie Five Years, Morecambe & Wise – In Pieces/Story/Perfect, Dr Who Ultimate Guide, Sport Relief, Trooping the Colour, D-Day 70. Offering an end-to-end workflow, The Wedge works closely with production teams prior to the start of shooting to advise on best practice for recording media on location through to final TX delivery. Our FCP edit suites are supported by a centralised team, headed by an in-house engineer along with a dedicated DT assigned to each production to keep the edits running as smoothly as possible. With our online/grading suites running DaVinci Resolve and audio suite running Nuendo, our productions can work under one roof for a seamless user experience.
